Wall Art - Talking Textiles

Deborah McKellar (b.1981 Johannesburg, South Africa) completed her postgraduate studies in 2006 with a Master of design , Majoring in Textiles at the Collage of Fine Arts, University of New South Wales. Prior to this she obtained a BA (HONS) Fine Arts majoring in painting in 2005 at LaSalle-SIA Collage of the Arts Singapore.

Today she is a practicing textile artist and designer. As with most of Deborah's artworks inspiration is gathered from her surroundings here in Singapore. The process begins with a photograph that is then adapted and made into a silk screen. This image is then hand printed in her studio space, resulting in original works that are not mass-produced. Deborah has exhibited in Singapore, Australia and South Africa.
